isn't Arsenal's stadium signed for football? maybe that's why they've adjusted better

You can do it any way you like. As Man City have shown.

MAN CITY DON'T OWN THEIR GROUND.

THEY SEEM TO DO RATHER WELL WITH SPONSORSHIP.

OH, SILLY ME!

Yes there are ways round it. You can sponsor your own stadium for stupid money.

Oh, silly me, we can’t do that can we as we don’t own our own stadium and are capped to earn less than any rights that we did from Upton Park or Stoke get now.

NEXT LEVEL. MILLIONS AND MILLIONS - that was what you used to say wasn’t it?

Not sure where the idea Arsenal massively struggled to adapt to the Emirates, with a similar dip in form to us.

Arsenal finished 4th with 67 points in the last season at Highbury, and have finished every season at the Emirates since with more points.

In fact they only lost 1 home game in their first two PL seasons.

Reckon Chinese might be more likely than Arabs nowadays. Buying or bought WIGAN ATHLETIC as well I think.

HASN'T SOME BILLIONAIRE YANK BOUGHT INTO US?!

WHY WOULDN'T ANYONE BE INTERESTED IN BUYING US?!

AND WHY DO YOU BIZARRELY ASSUME THAT THE OPPORTUNITY HAS GONE?!

IF YOU MENTION FFP THEN, WELL, THERE ARE EASY WAYS AROUND THAT.

The last thing I would want is for the club it to be taken over by either filthy oil rich Arabs, Russian oligarchs or far eastern potentates.

There is a post on this Board worrying about the WHU identity but for me it's the identity of top football in this country that is at issue. In the very recent past foreigners have bought in to Bournemouth, Swansea, WBA , Everton and Leicester to name but a few. Just look at the PL table to see how these teams are thriving.

other than the TV money what would these billionaires be getting? we don't own anything now and our record signing is a lazy, useless cunt. this is as far from the next level as you could possibly get. they are club murdering scum

That ship had sailed long before we moved stadiums, there are no filthy oil-rich Arabs wanting to buy us. Never has been.

I COULDN'T GIVE A FUCK HOW GOOD OR HOW SHIT THE GROUND IS.

NEVER HAVE.

I JUST WANT OIL-RICH BILLIONAIRE ARABS. I'VE BEEN VERY CLEAR ON THAT FROM THE WORD GO.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread .FT 0-3
The stadium isn't responsible for results positive or negative. In our last year at the Boleyn we had one of the worlds best players (at the time) running our team. In our first year at the new place the same player went on strike. The results are down to Slav just throwing star names onto the pitch dream team style without any shape.

What use is width and a lone forward against a giant Brighton defence. Even a cretin can see that against a side like that (we were one for years under Sam) who are focused on a clean sheet first you need to be mobile across the front line. Pulling the giants apart and creating space for the Lanzini types. Look at the goal that Saints scored to beat wba yesterday.

Still nothing on the SHOCK and AWE transfer window you promised us, you know the one you said would come about as a direct result of us moving stadiums.

Seems at one time you thought they had effect on things, funny (obviou) why you’re so keen to pretend otherwise now.

dicksie's a strange one. in one hand he'll call out the spivs for lack of investment but then defend the cunts moving us to a fucking athletics friendly shithole. I don't care if Roma, Lazio or other teams play in similar dumps. it will remain a toilet and is not fit for watching football in

"
MOVE US OUT OF THE LONDON STADIUM INTO SOME LEAGUE TWO PILE OF SHIT CUNT GROUND WITH MOLE HILLS ALL OVER THE PITCH!

WATCH US CLIMB-UP THE TABLE IN NO TIME!"

So there you go. You believe that the stadium you play influences results and where you finish. The OS mob always did.
And yet, when anyone says they don't like the place, the response is 'we lost games at Upton park' even though no one mentioned Upton park.

That's the key difference. No one who wanted to stay at UP claimed that results would be either positively or negatively impacted by moving. Those who wanted to move said they would be better. They haven't been, so I'm not even sure what the fuss is about. You're arguing with yourselves from 3 years ago, no one else.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread .FT 0-3
Erm, no I didn't. And no you most definitely didn't.

Still, I can understand why you'd be so defensive. A brief precis of your last 5 years on here:
Then:
'Moving stadiums will mean better results and finishing higher'

Now

'Stadiums have nothing to do with results'

Then:
'Moving stadiums will help us compete with the top teams and sign better players'

Now

'We can't compete with the top teams'

Then:
'Retractable seating will go right to the edge of the pitch '

Now
'They're just teething problems

I could go on all day, but the fact that you - after all your shit - gave up your season ticket after one fucking season speaks volumes.

Still, to your credit, I do admire your CHUTZPAH. Pretty much every other poster in the history of the site who has been that wrong and made that much of a tit of themselves has either fucked off or changed usernames. Fair play for that... although I suspect it's misplaced arrogance, and the belief that you've fooled anyone, that keeps you going.
